SS NORMANDIE OCEANLINER CREW PIN. Circa 1935
Reverse states"FRENCH LINE COMPAGNIE GENERALE TRANSATLANTIQUE".
Very scarce. Beautiful condition. Guilloche Enamel on brass/metal.
The SS NORMANDIE made the fastest crossing in history from FRANCE to NEW YORK in only 4 days time in 1935, and was only in service for 6 years when it caught fire in 1941, while docked in NY.
It was the EPITOME of luxury. I have seen only 2 of these pins on the web and 2 pairs of matching cufflinks.
Measurements are 1.25 tall x 1.05 across. The clasp is in good, working order.
