This exquisite Victorian-era bowl in Northwood’s “Klondike” pattern is crafted from vibrant canary opalescent glass. Dating to the late 1800s, this striking piece features Northwood’s hallmark ribbed panels, curled feet, and rich opalescent edges that catch the light beautifully.
Condition is excellent for its age—no chips, cracks, or repairs. The fine striations you're seeing inside the glass are most likely shear marks, straw marks, or cooling lines—all common characteristics of hand-pressed Victorian-era glass. These are not damage, but rather authentic manufacturing artifacts that are expected in 19th-century glass production.
As expected with antique glass, there may be minor surface wear or manufacturing irregularities, but as shown in the photos, this example is remarkably clean and well-preserved.
It fluoresces brightly under UV light due to its uranium content, making it a standout addition to any Vaseline glass or Early American Pattern Glass (EAPG) collection.
