I'm parting with this stunning piece with a heavy heart. I brought it back from a recent trip to Morocco just weeks ago,and fell completely in love with it. Sadly, due to an unexpected move, I can't keep it, and I hope it finds a home where it will be just as cherished.
This authentic Berber rug is handwoven by a collective of Amazing Berber women in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. What makes this rug even more special than its striking colors and craftsmanship is the story behind it: It was made by a women’s cooperative that empowers divorced and widowed women by teaching them the art of rug weaving. Through this cooperative, these women are able to support themselves and their families, preserve their cultural heritage, and build strong, independent lives.
