Fantastic art pottery made by The Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The pattern is called "Forest" and the form is a 2 handled bowl or basket. The bowl is roughly 3" tall and 6" wide.
The bowl has a two handles on the top that opens up into about a 3 inch opening. It depicts a scene in a forest in which you can see trees, leaves and the floor or ground of the forest along with a waterfall. You can see bushes and shrubs on the forest floor with clarity. This pattern is repeated on the opposite side and rolls around the edges as well.
The bowl is in near mint to mint condition. I do not see any defects at all. This is one of, if not, the best examples of Weller Forest I have had the please of offering. The bowl is market Weller on the bottom.
This bowl was made circa 1915-1928.
