Vintage, green mark
The "Nippon" era lasted from 1891 until 1921. This was due to the McKinley Tariff Act which required that all porcelain be marked with the country of origin. "Nippon" literally translates to "Japan". The US changed its position in 1921 requiring products to be marked "Japan".
