This Metropolitan Museum of Art gold stag brooch is inspired by the Scythian stag (7th - 6th c. BC) from the Hermitage Museums traveling exhibition, Scythian Gold Treasures of 1975. Sculpted by Augustin Medina, this majestic brooch is 24K plated copper, and has beautiful sculpted details in a rich matte satin finish. This is a rare, hard to find piece of museum jewelry. Stamped MMA on the back. C-clasp closure. Comes with original box and paper insert.
